Continuous Re-planning with Cross-docks in OTM Cloud by Brian Ramos (Oracle Consulting)

Bio:  Brian Ramos began working with OTM at DHL Supply Chain in 2006. Beginning in Operations, he has supported OTM solutions through Customer Service, Transport Planning, System Analyst, Functional Consultant and Solution Architect roles. He holds a Master of Engineering in Logistics degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Abstract: A new OTM Cloud customer will plan transport for their multi-tier retail distribution network with Orders to and from Suppliers, Distribution Centers and Stores. They will use their Distribution Centers for both storage of goods and as cross-docking locations. An Order is permitted to cross-dock through multiple DC locations in its routing. Order routing must be re-evaluated during each planning cycle (multiple cycles per day). Using a novel combination of outbound XSLT and an integration loopback the customer is able to continuously plan orders through an unlimited number of cross-dock locations, considering order constraints and total network consolidation opportunities

Bio:  Bartosz (Bartek) Borczynski is a skilled transport, procurement and supply chain development professional with fourteen years' experience in different positions, in large, dynamic, international organisations. He thrives when working on development and change in a global environment. Privately he loves to travel, play volleyball and read post-apocalyptic literature.

Abstract:  Nobia has recently undertaken the exercise of implementing OTM to streamline its transportation processes and bring in tighter controls. Lack of or outdated systems to manage transportation has driven the decision to implement a best of breed TMS.

Logistics 4.0 – getting the extra value out of transport logistics by integrating advanced optimization techniques into decision processes by Robert Recknagel (flexis AG)

Recknagel has been a significant player in automotive and manufacturing initiatives. He’s the recipient of the elogistics award 2015 from AKJ as well as an Industry 4.0 award by the state of Baden Württemberg, Germany.

Abstract:  In the past, the optimization of transport logistics has been highly segmented. Where strategic, tactical, and operational planning have been dealt with as distinct and separate entities, companies have suffered from siloized decision-making and a lack of transparency, leading to decisions made on incomplete information. Decision-makers must realize that these different planning dimensions actually represent parts of the same whole that need to be interlinked in an integrated planning funnel to avoid bottlenecks, decision-making siloes, and inefficiencies. The combination of end-to- end supply chain planning solutions with the operational execution of OTM as strong TMS will allow customers to outperform in their logistics performance.
